Order of
Christian Initiation for Children and Adults
RCIA
is a structured process meeting the needs of the people on the
journey of initiation into or conversion to the Catholic faith.
The RCIA Team, which is composed of volunteer parishioners and
parish staff, provides catechesis to the candidates and
catechumens. Sponsors journey one on one with the
Catechumens and Candidates. Volunteers can also provide
refreshments for the sessions or babysitting services for the
catechumen, candidates, and their sponsors. Spouses and other
interested parishioners are welcome to attend the sessions.
RCIA is a year round activity. Inquirers can be welcomed at any
time of the year.
Welcoming
Committee
A group of parishioners makes it their special concern to make
new members feel welcome and familiarize them with the various
committees and activities that Blessed Sacrament Church has
available to them. This group greets and registers persons
wishing to become Blessed Sacrament parishioners on the third
Saturday/Sunday of the month after all the liturgies.
Parish
Newsletter
The newsletter staff consists of an editor, writers,
photographers, proofreaders and layout helpers to assemble and
mail information and news of the parish three to four times a
year. It highlights activities and accomplishments of the
parishioners and details upcoming events, both with articles and
photographs. The newsletter also features articles from
parishioners, staff members, and Pastor, to keep the parish
updated and informed on topics significant to the parish
community.
Card
Ministry
Volunteers send cards to the sick of the parish and to those who
have experienced a death of a loved one.
Twinning Committee
This committee
maintains an ongoing relationship with St. Joan of Arc Parish in
Plymouth, N.C. We offer physical, spiritual, and financial
support to the parish and in turn are enriched as a parish
community by their particular gifts.
Web
Communications
In an effort
to connect with parishioners beyond the church walls we have
established a web site as a means of evangelization and be able
to share information and educational links to the larger Church.

This group
of parishioners writes notes and collects food donations and
money to cover the postage to send the packages to parishioners
away at college or in a branch of military service. Packages
are sent two times a year.
Divorce and Beyond
This is a peer
ministry group that meets for eight weeks to discuss the stages
of healing needed to get through the divorce experience. This
is sponsored by our parish and is open to anyone who is
experiencing the pain of divorce.
