Adult
Christian Faith Formation
Speakers, special scripture studies, leadership formation,
concerts and other varied opportunities are periodically offered
at the parish. A speaker series is held in Advent and Lent.
Events are publicized in the Sunday bulletin and through the
local media. An Adult Education/Formation Committee helps
coordinate these events.
Parish
Library
A
self-service library is open during the parish office hours and
following weekend liturgies. The library contains tapes, books,
and videos on a variety of subjects, including family life
issues, intended to enhance the spiritual and personal growth of
the reader.
Sunday
Pre-School Program
The parish
pre-school program offers a religious readiness program for
three, four, and five year-old children. Weekly projects and
activities deal with such topics as: Myself, Family, Friends,
Special Holidays and God’s various gifts. It is held during the
9:00 A.M. liturgy during the school year and conducted by
volunteer catechists and aides.
FFS (School of
Religion) (Kindergarten through sixth grade)
The
religious education program encourages spiritual growth and
enrichment by providing the opportunity for classroom religious
instruction for those children of the parish in one through six
grades who attend public schools. Classes take place from 10:10
- 11:20 am Sunday mornings from September to May.
Parish
volunteers, under the supervision of the Director of Religious
Education, conduct classes for the children Sunday mornings
during or between the liturgies. Commitments to teach are for a
yearly term, September to May. FFS Classroom
Assistants help the catechist teach and conduct activities.
FFS Teen Helpers also assist the catechist and assistant
within the classroom.
Parents may also
“home school” their children. Home school arrangements need to
be made through the Director of Religious Education.
FFS Office
Helpers
Volunteers
assist in the Religious Education office Sunday mornings during
FFS, answering phone calls, directing questions, and calling
homes of students absent from FFS.
Vacation
Bible School
This week-long event is held during June for pre-school
through grades five. Children learn about God through music,
games, instruction, arts and crafts, and refreshments. Adult
and teen volunteers staff this wonderful program, along with
parish staff personnel.
Youth
Ministry (grades 7 through 12)
Both the
Junior and Senior High Youth Ministry programs strive to engage
teens in the life and ministry of the parish. Total youth
ministry includes Catechesis, Community Building, Service,
Prayer and Worship, Advocacy, and Leadership Training. All
teens of the parish --- both public and parochial --- are
encouraged to become active members.
Junior High Youth Ministry (grades 7-8)
The junior high teens meet every Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm
(September-May) for formal religious education instruction. The
program also offers various activities throughout the school
year with the help of the Junior High Parent Coordinators.
Parents, with the support of the Youth and Young Adult
Director, plan and coordinate prayer and worship, service and
community building activities for the teens. Click
here to view our January - May calendar.
Senior High Youth Ministry (grades 9-12)
The senior high teens meet every Sunday from 6 - 7:30 pm
(September-April). These times include topics pertinent to teen
culture and what it means to be a Catholic in the midst of it
all. Other evenings include intergenerational activities with
parents or grandparents. A Youth Advisory Committee,
made up of parents of senior high youth, advises the director on
needs and concerns of the youth. They help plan and carry out
youth activities, which include trips, socials, service, prayer
and worship, and leadership training. Click

Small Parish
Communities
Fixed
groups of 7-10 people gather on a regular basis to reflect on
scripture in light of their lived experience of faith and life.
These groups formally gather in parishioners’ homes on various
days and times as determined by the group. The small group is
provided materials and leadership training from a staff liaison.
Little Rock
Scripture Study
This
scripture study group meets for five to six consecutive weeks,
three times a year. Participants strive to fully live God’s
word, understand what the Word means in their lives, and try to
apply that Word to today’s world. The sessions include prayer,
breaking open the scripture, discussions, and a different
wrap-up speaker each week.
Follow Me
“Follow Me” is a Lenten small
group experience. Participants “break open” God’s Word through
discussion of the upcoming Sunday’s scripture. Groups are
facilitated by volunteer parishioners.
