Prayer and Worship
Seeks the growth of the parish as a worshipping community. They are concerned with all parish llturgies, including weekend Euchartst, penance services, evening prayer, RCIA, etc., and with other forms of spiritual growth such as renewal programs and other prayer services.
Spiritual Life Committee
Seeks to enhance spiritual life of parishioners by encouraging parish retreats, renewal proqrarns, prayer groups, etc.
Spiritual Direction
Basic to our Catholic tradition is the practice of individual spiritual direction. Direction is available for those who feel called to private direction at this point on their journey toward God. Call the parish office for more information at 372-2215.
Sacristan
Prepares the worship space for the liturgies by assuring that all necessary items are in place. They are attentive to the vessels used in communion, the number of hosts available for communion, etc.
Service for the Sacristy
These services include: maintaining linens and liturgical garments used for the liturgy, sewing names on the baptismal stoles for those receiving the Rite of Baptism, maintaining liturgical candles, and training and coordinating daily mass servers.
Liturgical Ministers Scheduler
Develops the schedule of ministers including lectors, Eucharistic ministers and altar servers, for all three masses.
Eucharistic Ministers
Lay ministers assist the presider and serve the Body and Blood of Christ at liturgy. Also Eucharistic Ministers bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound.
Lectors
The ministry of Lector is one of Proclamation of God's Word. The Lector possesses a special gift that enables him or her to bring life to the spoken word of God as found in the Scriptures, i.e., the Sunday and Weekday Lectionary.
Altar Servers
Students in grades 5 through 8 are invited to become Altar Servers. Servers are trained annually to assist at Sunday Mass, and various Liturgical Celebrations. Interested students are invited to join by obtaining forms from the school or parish offices.
Cantor
The ministry of Cantor is to bring the song of the assembled community to life, to proclaim the Psalms in song and to assist the people so that their song may become prayer.
Ministers of Hospitality
These ministers welcome and greet the assembly as they arrive for Liturgy, distribute song sheets or programs, identify those with special needs, help people find a seat, take up the weekly offerings, help with the procession to receive communion, and distribute the weekly bulletins at the end of Liturgy.
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
CLOW is a way for your children Kindergarten through grade three to experience God's word at their own level with the other children of our parish. CLOW is held during the 9:00 (8:30) and 11:30 (11:00) liturgies on Sundays and led by lay catechists.
Environment Committee
Plans, obtains and completes the decoration of the Church for the liturgical seasons and special events.
Leaders of Prayer
Lay Ministers preside at or lead the congregation or special groups in various services such as Liturgy of the Word with or without communion, Liturgy of the Hours, Wake Services and Stations of the Cross. The Pastor selects leaders and an eight-week Diocesan training period is required.
Evening Prayer
Evening prayer is celebrated the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month, and every Tuesday during Advent and Lent. All Soul's evening prayer involves the lighting of candles for all the deceased of the parish. Lay Leaders of Prayer preside at these prayer services.
Music Ministry
Our parish music ministry involves singers and instrumentalists in the prayer of our church. A combined rehearsal is held in the parish library (choir room) each Thursday at 7:00pm. September through May, and once a month during the summer. Singers lead our sung prayer (both as cantors and as group members) at each of our weekend liturgies. New members - both singers and instrumentalists - are always welcome.
Baptism Coordinator
Assist the presider during the Rite of Baptism.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
Men of our parish have the opportunity to join Fr. King for breakfast and prayer the first Monday of each month at 7:00am, and each Monday in Advent and Lent. The place is announced each month at mass and in the bulletin.
Women's Prayer Breakfast
Women of our parish have the opportunity to join Fr. King for breakfast and prayer the first Wednesday of each month for 8:30am Morning Mass, and a session at 9:00am in Holy Family Hall. The gathering is announced each month at Mass and in the bulletin.
